After five weeks of chemo, she's being stoic and not complaining, but is having lots of unpleasant side effects, from loss of her hair, super low blood pressure, bad digestive problems, food she likes tasting disgusting and water not tasting right, and what look like chemical burns on her hands, which are swollen/blistered. I was really great to see folks I haven't seen in ages, and to reconnect with local fans and meet new people. Lots of fannish conversations, which is the best part of cons along with seeing friends. I'm just watching ep. 6 of Les Revenant, because I need to turn it into Rain City Video. I was sad that they closed the branch nearest my house, that I could walk to. My second mother got diagnosed with breast cancer and has had lots of tests and a biopsy. It's a really aggressive form of ductile carcinoma.

They initially said she'd have a lumpectomy plus radiation, but after the MRI, they said chemo first to shrink it (it's 3.5 cm). She's got her first chemo tomorrow. They don't think it's in her lymph nodes ( Read more... )
